Hey, everyone!
A few updates for you: In our first week, we've done a great job! We made $3,740! Not a bad start.
However, the first week of a crowdsourcing campaign is often the most generous. After just a few days, online awareness begins to plummet, and the number and value of those donations become sluggish to a crawl. You can see this diagram of our campaign activity so far:
A great start, but if we make the same amount every week for the rest of the campaign, we will JUST BARELY fall short of our minimum goal. We'll need to do even better this coming week and increase that momentum throughout the campaign in order to reach our minimum goal of $30,000.
Sammus/Enongo herself is keeping very busy with a lot in her life, so it's up to us to do as much as we can to spread the word and keep this project afloat, so that we can finally share her inspiring story with you all.
One great way to spread awareness is with our Fan Shout-Out! The Fan Shout-Out goes like this:
1.) On Twitter and/or Instagram and/or Facebook, post why you love Sammus: what she means to you, why you enjoy her music, if her art has ever resonated with you in a particular way, why you think her story or perspectives are important, etc.
2.) If you can/want, post any of the images posted in our updates or on our social media OR, better yet, use a selfie of you with Sammus (if you have one)
3.) Use the hashtag #Enongo so we can find your shout-out!

Our first write-up comes from Scratched Vinyl: "[Sammus] is amazing. She's released some incredibly smart and emotionally complex albums, including the best album of 2016, Pieces in Space, and she puts on one of the most moving live performances you'll ever see."
Our second from the good folks at LeaguePodcast.com: "Check out the Indiegogo trailer for Enongo - The Sammus Documentary. Parts of our recent Sold Out show with Sammus, Mega Ran, and None Like Joshua at ONCE Somerville are in the trailer!"
And additionally, an article about Sammus herself from The Berkshire Eagle, with this powerful except from our artist: “Yesterday, I received a message on Instagram. Somebody told me, ‘Thank you. This song changed my life.’”

Hey, everyone!
We reached an exciting milestone in our campaign yesterday: we have achieved 10% of our minimum goal! Thank you to all of the backers so far for their support and generosity!
It's important to remember that $30,000 is only our minimum goal to keep this documentary afloat, and that the first few days of a fundraising campaign is when you receive the most donations. So we need to keep this momentum up. But if we can keep this enthusiasm up and growing, we will meet and even exceed our minimum goal! 10% is a great milestone. When can we reach 20%? After the end of our first week on Monday? Only with your help...

A couple of little updates: Sammus has some performances coming up this month, including TONIGHT in North Adams, Massachusetts! Here's her current schedule:

Go out there and support this amazing artist and these great venues! And if you can't make it to the shows, you can get plenty of merch and swag from her by donating to this Indiegogo campaign!

Hey, everyone!
First off, THANK YOU so much for your incredible generosity, enthusiasm, and support! This is a film that has been brewing for a long time, and it's very exciting to see that there are other people in the world that also want to see this documentary about this remarkable artist become a reality.
In our first 48 hours, we raised $1,785! That feels pretty great. That money doesn't just have financial value, but also emotional value. It keeps us moving forward on both a figurative and a practical level. And if we can make $1,785 every 48 hours until the end of the campaign, we will not only meet our minimum goal of $30,000, but we'll EXCEED it, making enough money to make this documentary the best movie it can be, with plenty of technical polish, exclusive access, and global outreach.
But that's a BIG if. Usually, the first 48 hours of a campaign is the most generous time to receive awards. The news is fresh, but after a short amount of time, enthusiasm and awareness begin to fade...
$30,000 might seem like a lot of money, and let's be real, it is. But let's put it in this perspective: If just 300 people gave just $100 each, we would reach our minimum goal (and they would get some pretty great swag and merch, too). If twice as many people gave that amount, we would easily surpass our minimum goal, and this film would become a reality at last!
That's where you come in. If you can, keep the momentum up! Liking, sharing, posting, retweeting, and recommending to friends is free but absolutely invaluable. So spread the word with these links on your social media accounts:
