Here's our third crew member testimony, this one from New York-based camera operator, Bella Zinca:

"I was excited for my first camera credit on a feature film. After my first Sammus show I became excited to be a part of THIS feature film. Sammus' music says a lot of things I needed to hear, and I'm so happy I get to be part of sharing what a brilliant person Enongo is."
Bella will be filming with us tonight at the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg for Sammus' opening set. A few tickets still remain, so if you're in the area and free tonight to catch her 8:00 PM performance, come on by! We'd love to see you and celebrate with you! And trust us, if you have not been to a Sammus show before, you will NOT be disappointed.

Hey, everyone!
We have a special video for our generous backers: We recorded Enongo's reaction to us reaching our exact minimum goal of $30,000 just a few minutes before her show in Philadelphia on Saturday night. At first, her reaction was one of shock and excitement. Then, after she performed her moving song about escaping a nearly fatal mental breakdown, "1080p", it really sunk in. Acts of kindness, generosity, and support can go a long way in helping someone realize that their visions, their art, their voice, and even their life matters.

"Filming Sammus perform live was captivating. I can understand why [director] Kevin [Schreck] was compelled to share her story and artistry. When I was hired to film, I assumed this would be a simple one and done gig but by the end of the night I truly became a supporter of her and wanted to contribute anyway I could for this project."

Hey, everyone!
Just a reminder that we had an AMAZING weekend. Great footage, new stories, and (excluding obligatory fees and other such dumb stuff) we reached our minimum goal of $30,000!
But we still have four days left in this Indiegogo campaign to make this movie the best it can be! Every dollar counts, and goes to everything from buying merch directly from Sammus/Enongo to support her work to the documentary's post-production audio, color correction, original music score, filming expenses, hiring crew members, gear, and much, much more.
To celebrate our last few days of the campaign, we'll share some testimonies from some of our amazing and passionate crew members behind our film, Enongo. Our first is from associate producer, Danielle Christine Ouimet, and why she wants to help make this film into a reality:

I want to see a movie that insists women can be successful in industries like hip hop or STEM that are typically overwhelmingly men.
I want to see a movie that speaks with care about mental health and thriving in the face of anxiety.
I want to see a movie with a protagonist who is a champion for Black Lives Matter.
Some of the best advice I got at [my college] AMDA was: you are responsible for the art you want to see. So I’m responsible for trying to help Enongo get made. Donate, if you can. Share if you can."

Hey, everyone!
We have some extremely exciting news: Thanks to all of your incredible generosity and immense enthusiasm, WE HAVE OFFICIALLY REACHED 100% OF OUR MINIMUM GOAL OF $30,000!!!!
Kinda.
Why kinda? Well, Indiegogo takes about 10% of our contributions, which is super-lame, but I guess they gotta eat, too. The Finances Breakdown is below:
After processing fees and Indiegogo platform fees, they take away a little bit from what we've received. Dumb. (Also, there was a tiny amount of refunds, but those were from backers who accidentally donated twice. Technical difficulties happen.) Additionally, while $30,000 is a big amount of money, we'll need a bit more to make sure that we can afford all of the essentials (post-production audio, color correction, original music, touring expenses, money to hire camera operators, online editing, travel expenses, accommodations, and more), and all of the merch goes directly to supporting our wonderful artist, Enongo. Artists need to help each other out.
BUT this is still an AMAZING AND IMPORTANT MILESTONE!! Not only have we achieved a sizable portion of our budget, but having made this much money is good motivation for any other third parties that might want to financially support our movie down the line. Our incredible achievement basically tells them that the world wants to see Enongo become a reality.
Enongo herself was ecstatic with your generosity. We were moved to tears. There is much to celebrate. We made our minimum goal in less than 60 days, with the help of about 340 amazing people from all around the world on SIX CONTINENTS!
We still have about five days left in our Indiegogo campaign. That's five more days to donate, five more days to share this project with your friends on social media and via email, and five more days to get tons of awesome Sammus merch and rewards, including signed CDs, records, DVDs/Blu-Rays, t-shirts, tickets to her shows, and much, much more!
